Alex Landry

Alex Landry is a Louisiana Master Naturalist with a deep passion for birds and the natural environment of Southeast Louisiana. As a native of St. Tammany Parish, he has actively contributed to local conservation efforts and environmental education.

In April 2024, Alex led a guided bird outing at Camp Salmen Nature Park in Slidell during the "Celebrate Trails Day" event. This event, organized by the St. Tammany Parish Government and the Rails to Trails Conservancy, aimed to promote outdoor activities and environmental awareness. Since then, he’s led numerous guided outdoor adventures for Canoe and Trail Adventures, The Northshore Nature Club, Cat Island National Wildlife Refuge, Zeiss Nature, SportOptics, and more.

A life-long resident of St Tammany parish, Alex is focused on bringing the natural world to the people. He believes everybody has a little bit of naturalist in them. In his new position as Naturalist and Environmental Education Programs coordinator at Pelican Park/Recreation District #1, he hopes to acquaint all with the beauty and wonderful of the natural world in southeast Louisiana.

Be on the lookout for new environmental education programs at Pelican Park/Recreation District #1!
