Meet Lemon Tree

Meet Lacy, an elementary school librarian and a passionate environmentalist. When the COVID pandemic hit, Lacy found herself with some extra time on her hands, and she decided to put it to good use by starting up a small glass recycling business with her son.

Lacy's love for the environment and her desire to make a positive impact on the planet are what inspired her to start this new venture. She saw an opportunity to reduce waste and promote sustainability in her community, and she decided to take action. Together with her son, Andrew, they collect glass bottles and jars from local households and businesses, and they give them a second life.

As an elementary school librarian, Lacy is an expert in children's literature and education. She is passionate about teaching kids about the importance of recycling and sustainability, and she often brings her recycling project to the school to inspire and educate her students. Her glass recycling business has become a family affair, and she is proud to involve her son in this exciting and meaningful project.

In her free time, Lacy enjoys reading, hiking, and spending time with her family. She is always looking for new ways to make a difference in her community and beyond, and she is excited to see where her glass recycling business will take her next.

Meet Andrew, a local craftsman and history buff with a passion for creativity and sustainability. From a young age, Andrew was fascinated by the history of craftsmanship and the art of creating beautiful and functional objects. He pursued his passion by studying history in college, and he spent years learning the art of woodworking and problem solving.

When his mother, Lacy, they decided to start a glass recycling business during the COVID pandemic, Andrew was eager to get involved. He saw an opportunity to use his skills and bring the community a service they did not have access to. Together with his mother, Andrew collects glass bottles and jars from local businesses and households and saves them from the landfill, the only other option St. Tammany Parish has.

As a history buff, Andrew is particularly drawn to the traditional techniques and styles of craftsmanship. He enjoys researching the history of the economy and woodworking, and he incorporates these techniques and styles into his work. He takes great pride in creating objects that are not only beautiful but also functional and sustainable.

In addition to his work as a craftsman, Andrew is also an avid reader and a lover of all things historical. He enjoys learning about different cultures and time periods and incorporates this knowledge into his work. He is always looking for new and innovative ways to create objects that tell a story and inspire others.

When he's not working in his studio, Andrew enjoys hiking, practicing yoga, and spending time with his friends and family. He is excited to see where his passion for creativity and sustainability will take him next and is proud to be making a positive impact on his community through his work in glass recycling.
