We’re Andrew and Lacy Ellzey — a mother-and-son team with a trailer, a mission, and a desire for sustainability.
Lemon Tree started in 2020 with a simple idea: people in St. Tammany want to recycle — they just need a way to do it. So we made one. What began as a weekend glass pickup route has grown into a parish-wide service and a growing circular economy network.
From the very beginning, our family has been at the heart of this work.
We’ve hauled glass in the heat, sorted metal in the rain, and talked recycling with just about anyone who’d listen. And we wouldn’t have gotten far without the time, tools, and muscle volunteered by Andrew’s dad, Josh, who’s been an essential part of every big step we’ve taken.
Today, Lemon Tree has recycled over 300,000 pounds of glass and 45,000 pounds of metal.
We’ve partnered with schools, small businesses, nature preserves, and entire towns to build systems that make sustainability easy, local, and real. Whether we’re picking up curbside glass or helping someone launch a compost program, our mission stays the same:
Keep things local. Keep things useful. And Keep St. Tammany Yours.
Thanks for being part of it.
